LEVI Evan MARKS
------------------------------------------------------
:: MODERN WEREWOLF
:: AGE:: 26
:: GENDER :: Male
:: FAMILY ::
Cassandra Marks – Mother (Alive, deterred to another pack)
Ken Marks – Father (Alive, in the Teith pack)
:: PACK :: Teith
:: YEAR/OCCUPATION :: Pack Guard
:: HUMAN APPEARANCE ::
Levi is the textbook definition of what a desirable man should look like. Even without the werewolf gene he is naturally broad with sharp, square shoulders, but they do not look out of place on his well-proportioned body. His all-round muscular physique isn’t anything like gym-junky level, he still has the conditioned toning of someone made to fight. He stands at 185 centimetres tall, certainly nothing to scoff at and holds himself in a quasi-military stance. The lines of his face were painted by the masters of art and his jaw chiselled by the sculptors of old. With fair brown hair and mystical hazel eyes finishing the equation, Levi is certain to turn a few heads. His face, while rugged with beard shadow, is still described to be quite pretty and handsome.
His attire is generally quite simple and cheap, given the qualms of being a werewolf. Often wearing old jeans, flannelette shirts and the occasional duffle jacket.
He has soft, dark brown hair and gentle eyes, which oddly compliment his ruggedly handsome features.
:: WOLF APPEARANCE ::
While not quite alpha size, Levi is still an impressive contender in his wolf form. His coat is a fine matte finish of nearly solid dark brown. There isn’t much in the way of standout markings on him but he does have the rare splash of a smoky-black hidden underneath his outer coat. He is well groomed as much as a stereotypical male werewolf is, but naturally he is still quite pleasing to look at; in both forms.
:: PERSONALITY ::
Levi isn’t a selfish person, but does believe that if you put in, you should get something back. He is respectful of rank and the dynamics of the pack however thinks werewolf customs to be outdatedly aggressive and selfish. He believes he can genuinely make a different and change things, to be a hero for the people. What he classifies as making a smart decision though, will often be seen by other werewolves as backing down from a challenge.
:: HISTORY ::
: Levi came to the Teith pack as a young boy of only five with his parents. His parents had grown tired of the complacency of their old pack and had heard of the drive that existed within the Teith pack. Both Levi’s parents were omegas and thus had a tough time proving their worth to the pack. Levi often experienced a lot of hate as a child, being the son of two try hard omegas. However as the years went on, especially as Levi came into puberty, it was obvious that he had potential. Levi had started to become much larger and broader, and with his eager to please attitude inherited from his parents but this time with the aptitude to back it up, looked to be a promising candidate for the higher pack positions. His parents though, weren’t so lucky. His father, now becoming an older wolf, and still an omega, looked like he was doomed to forever be at the bottom of the hierarchy. His fighting spirit had started to dwindle as he lost focus in himself and started supporting Levi in his attempts to move up the ranks. It was a sacrifice that his father was willing to make, but his mother didn’t want to stop her own pursuit of rank. She continued to try to prove herself, to the point where she was becoming more of a nuisance than anything else. Her aging body meant she could no longer stand her own in a fight, even among other omega’s that had roles of importance. Eventually it came to the stage where she was given an ultimatum by the alpha. Know your place, or leave. Cassandra didn’t want to end her life only known as the omega that gave up. As much as she loved Levi and Ken, she made the choice to leave. She could still see the potential in Levi in Teith, so before she left, she made him promise her that he’d try his hardest to make something of himself. Levi never forgot that promise.
Levi’s teenage years went on, and like in most wolf packs, he engaged in many fights with the other boys, all trying to establish their position. Levi could well and truly hold his own in a fight, but he lacked that one thing that would accelerate him to the top. He had the wrong desire in his drive. His parents had also been in the mindset to please others, to prove their own worth to the pack, rather than just making opportunities and working hard for themselves. Levi did much the same, he could win a bout of sparring but could not hold his own when it came to asserting dominance. Ken had often told Levi to try and please the alpha, more and more to win his favour, but any wolf with a real backbone would’ve known better. You don’t aim to appease others, you show off to them, assert yourself over them. You had to challenge an alpha, not grovel and do his laundry. At heart, Levi was also quite caring, definitely inheriting the softer side of his father as well. However, the mix of skill and attitude that made of Levi would not enable him to get to the top. It came to the year of his eighteenth birthday, and while he and his father were expecting that he’d get appointed a Beta position, it was not to be. The alpha didn’t see any merit to Levi, other than his skills. He was deemed more as a tool for the pack and forced to work as a guard.
Levi found it hard to move out of his position. It was only after quite a few years later did he start to want with his anger and frustration, more than his desire to please. The shift in his attitude started to push him and his father apart. Ken thought that Levi was becoming too careless and not like himself by using his anger, but Levi stood by his choices, saying that members of the pack were finally started to take notice of him. The divide made Levi quite lonely, although now he had started to see why his father and mother never got anywhere in all the years of being a part of the pack. They had no spine, no desire to do something for themselves, only others. Levi did initially feel selfish about just focussing on himself, but he liked the result. He moved up to the position of Beta and while still remained as a guard, moved on from guarding supplies to guarding important people in the pack. It was there that he started to see more closely just how the Alpha operated. He had so much control, so much power to influence the decisions of the pack, but his drive often came across to Levi as being incredibly aggressive. Levi was torn. He wanted to continue to move up the ranks, to prove his promise to his mother, but there was a part of him that still despised the selfish attitude of the Alpha level wolves, and many of the Betas too. It was around that time that he had an ambitious idea. He didn’t want to be a selfish, aggressive wolf like the Alpha, but he didn’t want to submissive either. He could fight, and quite well, so he thought that if he challenged the Alpha and won, he could decide on how the pack operated. He wouldn’t be submissive, but the pack wouldn’t have to be selfish and aggressive to get anywhere, he genuinely believed he could improve how the pack operated.
The day came where Levi challenged the Alpha. It was in front of the whole clan and he was determined to win. However, it was not to be. Before the fight even started, the Alpha put Levi in his place, exerting complete dominance over him. Levi didn’t want to submit, but the Alpha was not being respectful in the fight. Attacking him in that moment would have meant that Levi would have had to engage the rawer, selfish part of his wolf, the part that he despised. It would mean would have to be like all the others, ignore the rules and just take what he wanted. The Alpha had forced him into a corner where acting out would have made Levi look like he was after his own gain, rather than for the benefit of the pack. Levi couldn’t do it, especially as he had seen his father watching too. The look on his father’s face was full of worry for Levi. Things might have been rough them, but Levi couldn’t do it. He couldn’t make himself look like the thing he was trying to work against.
Thus began Levi’s stagnation. He had lost a lot of respect from the other Alpha type wolves in the pack, and naturally the Alpha was unimpressed with Levi for backing down. Levi continued to be a guard, but had won himself a lot of enemies in the pack. He still felt the urge to move up the ladder, but he had no idea how to go about it anymore. If he left, he knew he’d be surely hunted down as a danger to the pack, his father would have been likely killed too. Levi made the choice to stay in the pack until he thought of something else. At that time, Levi looked to be doomed to be a Beta forever. He wasn’t able to find a mate in the pack, and only because he had submitted to the Alpha, and to the Alpha that meant he could control Levi, did he remain as a guard. Skipping to the present day, there had been lots of talk about moving the pack to Colorado. Levi didn’t know exactly why, but this was different. A change of routine in the pack was all it took for Levi to be reminded of his distaste for them. Everyone else was doing something important for the change, but he was still there, the same old guard.
