MACTIRE FALLS HISTORY
ORIGIN
It has long been forgotten, how werewolves and vampires came to be. Most supernatural creatures know of the ancient feud that continues to thrive between vampires and werewolves, but have either forgotten, or never knew why the feud began in the first place. it all began with one plain family, who wanted more.
Mid 10th Century
Evrik Renhard was not a rich or powerful man, but had the ability to make powerful friends. Evrik lusted for something greater than his current life could provide him, but could never obtain any sort of power for himself. This did not change until after he married his wife, Edith. Being the second daughter of a rich lord, Evrik could not deny his opportunity to at least marry into power. What he didn't know, was that his wife, although plain herself, also had powerful connections.
Edith's closest friend Lucielle was a family servant, who Edith requested to have come with her after she married. Edith's father obliged, proclaiming that Lucielle was a wedding gift. Edith had been friends with Lucielle ever since her father found Lucielle orphaned and close to death. he adopted her and once she was well enough, made her a servant and play friend for Edith. At first, Lucielle did not plan to stay with the rich family, but she came to enjoy young Edith's company and soon felt in debt to Edith and her father. Eventually, Lucielle shared her greatest secret with Edith, the secret of witchcraft.
To begin with, Edith was skeptical and it took a lot of panicked reassurance for Lucielle to convince Edith not to tell her father. Lucielle began by showing Edith what she could do with her powers. When the small tricks began tiresome, the pair began planning ways for Lucielle to discover more of her powers. Afterall, Lucielle was nearly killed by a group of necromancer enthusiasts, who wanted to steal her family's grimoires. Lucielle managed to hide, but watched her parents and older sister get cut down by the necromancers. Lucielle heard them speak of the powerful spells that could resurrect the dead and enhance the living with supernatural strength.
After telling all this to Edith, the pair sought after her family's grimoires, which were hidden in a vault. When the grimoires were recovered, Lucielle began learning new spells, but soon discovered her ability to create her own versions of spells by connecting with her fallen ancestors.
Evrik did not learn of his new servant's powers until after the birth of his second son. Edith experienced a problem when birthing which would have killed her if Lucielle hadn't have been there. After that moment, there was no hiding her power from Evrik. Astounded, he begged Lucielle to teach him what she knew, but was told that once had to be born with magic, they could not learn it. Again, Evrik was a friend of yet another powerful being, but the idea of supernatural powers became his new obsession.
One evening, Evrik found himself drunk and loudly boasted about having a witch for a servant. Most of his companions were just as drunk and did not take his comment seriously, but those who did, began to create hysteria within the village. They soon began a rally to have Lucielle killed for practicing witch craft.
This caused the Renhard's to flee their village, as Evrik was not prepared to lose the most powerful person he knew. Their absence was not overlooked however, thus a bounty was placed on their heads. Just when they thought they were safe again, they were discovered. Evrik's youngest son Christoph was killed in their attempt to flee. not only did this leave the family in a state of despair, but the hysteria of witch craft spread over the country, which lead to many innocent people being killed. Not only magical folk were being killed, but those who supported or defended magical folk were killed too. Those who were magical were forced to go into hiding or fake their own deaths in order to escape.
Horrified at how humans were more of a threat than magical folk, Lucielle decided to end the hysteria. She was angry that not only her people, but her family were being hunted and slaughtered, all because of fear that the humans created for themselves. With this, Lucielle created the immortality spell. Evrik begged her to make him immortal, but it wasn't until Edith made the request to make her remaining children immortal, that Lucielle agreed; however she was uncomfortable with the idea of making humans immortal.
Lucielle granted Evrik, Edith and their four remaining children eternal life and immense speed and power. No mere human could harm them again. She also froze their aging, so that they would never grow old. With their new found power, the family burst out of hiding. They were immediately targeted, but unlike his wife, Evrik wanted to make the human's pay for his son's life and the pain they caused his family. He also craved the excuse to finally relish in his own power. It didn't take long before Evrik began killing all those who confronted him. Not only that, but what Lucielle had expected, was their hunger and lust for human blood. Her friends began feeding on people and making a sport of killing innocent people for fun. Lucielle hadn't counted on the family needing to feed on human blood to keep up their strength.
Knowing that this was her fault, Lucielle, turned their gift into a curse as she could not remove the immortality spell. Although every gift she gave them was binding, she made them night dwellers. The mere ray of sunlight would cause the Renhard's immense pain. Finally, Lucielle added a loop hole. The vampires could not die, but could be killed. Too much expose to sunlight, a wooden stake through the heart, decapitation and being burnt. These were the ways the vampires could be killed.
Lucielle's plan was once again foiled. The Renhard's found living harder with her new limitations, but found new ways to make the most of their conditions. It wasn't until Luka, who was toying with a human, forced the human to drink his blood before killing him. This begun the spreading of the curse. Fearing their extinction, the Renhard family began turning more people into vampires to create safety in numbers.
Fearing that altering their curse again would only create new problems, Lucielle created a new natural predator, however this time, she learnt from her past mistakes. These new predators would be created as the warriors of nature. Although supernatural, they were not immortal and could certainly be killed. Although this new race was born to wipe out vampires, the condition was also given as a curse, to prevent having what happened with the Renhard family happening again. Lucielle chose a large tribe to curse with lycanthropy. Her last act, was to allow the curse to be spread from werewolf to human by a bite under the light of a full moon. Werewolf venom was otherwise harmless to humans, but would be fatal for a vampire.
Slowly but steadily the number of both species grew and began culling each other, thus began the lifelong feud between vampire and werewolf.

Ten years ago, a war broke out between the vampire and werewolf packs on Mactire Falls. Wars between the two species were not uncommon, but what made this war different, was that it was a war between two vampire clans that drew in werewolf allies. Both vampire clans had strong relationships with their normally mortal enemies. This drew the attention of werewolves and vampires from around the world. More supernatural beings began flocking to Colorado, sparking the attention of the humans. The humans became an easy target, as one clan tried to preserve human life while the other clan knew this and began killing humans to attract attention and aim the limelight on the rivaling vampires.
Soon enough, the news of this war made its way to the ears of an old, but powerful witch. Lucielle. Like every other witch, Lucielle was not immortal, but like very few others, she learnt how to slow the aging process. However, this still made her a very old woman, but none the less, she made her way to Mactire Falls to end the war. She had also heard the rumors of hybrids, but thought it impossible, as a hybrid meant the DNA of werewolf and vampire, but she made sure vampires could not procreate.
Lucielle didn’t approve of the friendship between vampires and werewolves and wanted to punish the wolves that broke their vow to protect the world from vampires, however she also wanted to save innocent lives. When she arrived, she began by casting repelling spells on the clan and pack lands, so that humans would remain unaware of the chaos, but also safe. She then caused an almighty explosion that took a large death toll. Many werewolves and vampires, both local to Mactire Falls and not, lost their lives that day. Others, like many surrounding buildings, were blown away. The lucky ones who survived the explosion, had no memory of themselves or the events that took place. Some awoke in places as far as Russia and Australia, having been somehow transported magically there. However, some survivors of the explosion retained their memories and discovered that the victims who suffered memory loss could recover the lost memories with a lot of work.
Although the war ceased, the power it took Lucielle to cause the explosion, memory loss and many deaths, over exerted her and left her frail and broken. She spent most of her powers that day, as well as the strength to talk or move. A human woman found her and assumed she’d had a stroke. Lucielle was then sent to a home and taken care of, but died 10 years later in 2013. During her 10 years in Mactire Falls, Lucielle managed to perform enough magic to protect the town from supernatural creatures and repel the humans from the pack and clan lands. When she died, the town was no longer protected from supernatural creatures, but humans remained repelled from the pack and clan lands.

Beyond many old supernatural residents returning to Mactire Falls since Lucielle’s death, only one large event has taken place.
The small town attracted the attention of two powerhouse rivals, the Teith wolf pack and the Thraeston vampire clan. The two rivals have spent many years fighting each other over the rights to reside in LA. Many people were lost in the fighting on both sides. Eventually, the two powerhouses turned their attention towards Mactire Falls as a potential breeding ground for hybrids.
While Spencer -head of the Thraeston clan- had his own hybrid, he was eager to investigate rumours of another hybrid within the small country town of Mactire Falls. Sure enough, he found Meg Winchester, another born hybrid much like his nephew, Cion.
The two hybrids soon became an item, with a baby on the way.
As for the Teith pack, Alistair’s motives were far more nefarious. Alistair wished to create a hybrid army, so began devising a plan to kidnap a variety of vampires and werewolves alike to begin a breeding experiment. He also had intentions to kidnap the two hybrids as well.
On July the 4th, Alistair’s team kidnapped a bunch of the resident children of Mactire Falls; taking vampires, werewolves and humans alike. At his facility, he took samples from each of the children and began trying to create hybrids, using magic to accelerate the aging process.
Alistair also figured out how to use magic, traditional werewolf venom and hybrid blood to turn traditional and modern werewolves into hybrids as well, however the risk of death was still very high. While he did figure out how to prevent death, it was a taxing procedure which was deemed not worth the risk.
It was also discovered that turned hybrids were only as immortal and invulnerable as vampires, whereas born hybrids could recover from any injury, provided they were given the opportunity to heal.
When the abducted children were in the cell, Spencer and the local clan and pack stormed Alistair’s facility. The fighting lasted for only a few hours, before Alistair’s side ultimately fell. In that time, an enemy from the past revealed himself and tormented the children. Razor and his accomplice -Lucipher- escaped once the children were rescued, though the locals have begun gearing up to find them.
To prevent another situation like the kidnapping from occurring again, the leaders of the town insisted on investigating any new supernatural arrivals. These instances will be known as 'check points'. Scouts or members of the local werewolf or vampire factions will seek out new members as they arrive to gauge their intentions. The interaction need only be brief, but will be put in place to ensure nothing sinister happens again...
