-Artur himself began gathering loyal followers throughout the world quite early in his life.

-However this group of families and vampires was not officially joined under the name 'Welshmire Corporation' until 1772 during England's Industrial Revolution. At this time there were only three patriarchs turned by Artur and working in his service.

:: ASSOCIATES ::
-The Welshmire corporation ensures that blood is distributed to all clans who they have an affiliation or contract with. Therefore the associates of the Welshmire Clan usually fall into one of five categories.

-Sworn Families
-There are well over a hundred families who have directly sworn their allegiance to Artur Welshmire as well as many individuals.
     -These families/Individuals make up the majority of the Welshmire Corporation and have the right to declare that the possess the patriarch's favour.
    -All sworn families are expected to contribute in some way to the corporation lest they be cast out from Artur's protection and have their blood supply halted.

-Affiliates
-These are families/individuals who don't swear allegiance to Artur, but do work in tandem with the corporation. 
    -Range from people who simply want a reliable source of blood to those wanting to gain power to those who simply enjoy the know no other way.

-Friends
-Living for so long as he has Artur knows people of every race world-wide. A vast number of these would drop everything if he ever called and assist him in any way possible.

-Business
-A corporation cannot run entirely on its own and us such the Welshmires have many business partners throughout the supernatural and non-supernatural community.

-Political
-This includes the members of the vampire aristocracy world wide both within and outside of the Welshmires.
-Within this there is also the various coven leaders and pack alphas who have at the very least agreed to keep peace with the vampires.

:: ENEMIES ::
-It is only natural that with so many vampires who collectively hold so much power that they will form enemies.
-Despite the corperation's modern passifist views, the same ideals are not represented by all of its members. Even many who now act appropriately have formed enemies in the past through poor choices.

:: HISTORY ::
The Welshmires have had a long and complicated history growing ever more complicated as more vampires are thrown into the mix. Despite this the corporation only really existed as an idea when Artur met and then changed his wife Isabelle. She was the first vampire that Artur created despite his long life. Isabelle willingly consented to be changed into a vampire due to her love for Artur. Together they formed an idea of one day creating a body that could provide blood for vampires so that they wouldn't need to feed on and kill humans. This did not by far mean that Artur Welshmire was a saint. While Isabelle did mellow him out somewhat he was still quick to anger when questioned and utterly merciless to anyone who betrayed him. Anyone who failed to perform was dropped and he did not give second chances.

The one person who Artur has always had by his side is a Zaqar warlock. Using a blood enchantment Artur and the first Casius became tied with the intention of the warlock living forever. While Casius did live and extended life he still died and from then on his son and their son and so on have served Artur Welshmire. Having such a strong ancestral and magical entity on his side has singled Artur out among vampires who have generally simply avoided magic folk entirely.

By this time the Welshmire couple had developed associates across the globe and they implemented a small enterprise within the UK, providing blood for vampires living in less populated areas. this allowed members of their population to leave the cities where their kills would be noticed less. 

It was around this time that Artur met his first protege and friend Niall O'Dempsey. Niall was an Irish vampire and the only later patriarch who was not turned by Artur. With Niall's help the Welshmire couple spread their business throughout the UK. Niall was the closest thing to an equal Artur had ever had, despite the difference in their ages. They both understood that they required the other if anything was going to happen on a big scale.

The second vampire Artur turned was Jerome Daniels an English aristocrat who he had watched for some time. Given no choice but to join Artur in his enterprises Jerome learned the way of vampire and soon began to admire his maker as so many vampires did. Besides Jerome had possessed a meaningless life before Artur turned him and he soon found the work fulfilling as a vampire.

It was Isabelle Welshmire who first encountered Elías Moreno when she was forming contacts in South America. He was the leader of two thirds of the criminal underworld on the continent and was fully aware of the existence of supernatural creatures. He was instantly charmed by Isabelle and did agree for Welshmire agents to enter into his service, in order to distribute blood. He had no desire however to become a vampire himself, despite Isabelle eventually offering. Despite in some way already serving Artur, Elías was content in being the criminal ruler that he was. Eventually Artur himself decided to travel to South America and systematically destroy the underworld. Business ruined Elías finally agreed to be turned, understanding that Artur was going to get what he wanted eventually anyway. He hasn't questioned this decision since, holding far more power as a vampire then he did as a human.

Artur never intended to turn a fourth patriarch but, unfortunately he needed a way of breaking into the American market. the American accompany had fast become the forefront of the world and as such he spent a short time in New York searching for a possible new companion. It was there he encountered Nicholai Spencer; a man who was desperately trying to rise in political power. Unfortunately Nicholai's background and lack of power counteracted his skill with words, thus making he career progression virtually impossible. Meeting Artur and finding out about the opportunities that would be available to him if he was turned he convinced Artur to make him the fourth patriarch. He works fiercely hard in America for the Welshmire Corporation as he know that considering he talked his way into the job, he needs to do well in it.

One would think that after so much time there would be very little that could actually surprise Artur but, Isabelle getting pregnant certainly did. Artur had always seen the four patriarchs as his sons and had given up hope on having children of his own many years ago. The birth of Carrie was honoured by vampires worldwide as both vital to the company and a sign that vampire births were very much still possible. Having a new and healthy heir brought more vampires to the Welshmire cause out of admiration and an understanding that this power was not changing any time soon.

The birth of Justin Daniels signified an extreme change in the mentality of the clan. It was one thing for Artur and Isabelle to finally achieve a child after so long, but for another couple to do the same within the same century was amazing. A new wish developed among the Welshmire vampires who all wanted to experience the same euphoria as their masters. Vampires so seldom have children and when do they are revered. This is why Carrie and Justin have become engaged for surely it is more likely for two born vampires to have children. The possibility of more Welshmire blood throughout the world is an impossible dream to deny.

In the past decade the Welshmires have secured their dominance in distributing blood and their world shipping business. The company has expanded into travel, buying massive amounts of shares in various airline and shipping companies. During this time the power circle within the Corporation has been clearly defined. They are known as The Nine, made up of the three Welshmires, the four patriarchs, the warlock and the born heir. This group are forging the future of vampire kind on every continent and while they do not demand or expect the allegiance of all, they are as close to royalty among there kind as possible.

:: REASON :: The Welshmires are huge in the supernatural world, distributing the blood used by the majority of vampires. Additionally their families contain some quite old and notable vampires. Also it is fun sometimes to read a bit more back story on groups and people.
:: ADOPTABLE :: Anyone is welcome to make a character related in some way to the Welshmires so long as they are not already taken and are don't majorly change anything here. I don't mind at all what the personalities of the other members of the four families are so long as they adhere to the general idea. Basically they are old, powerful, well-known and fiercely loyal to Artur and that's all you need.
