BILLY 'William' HYDE
------------------------------------------------------
:: AGE :: 44 (looks 32)
:: GENDER :: Male
:: RACE :: Vampire
:: FAMILY :: Lives alone in Mactire Falls. Treats his staff and crew like family.
:: OCCUPATION/GRADE :: Billy owns The Sports Bar. He mainly stays out the back though. He also has a little side business in making fake IDs for anyone who can afford it.
:: PERSONALITY :: W Billy likes to picture himself as a classy businessman. He is charming and has a way with getting what he wants. He loves his 'family' of close employees and contacts and will protect them if need be. Although his 'family' and businesses mean everything to him and he will do whatever he needs to make sure nothing harms either, he is willing to turn a blind eye when other vampires are wanting to feed on his customers. As long as the vampires are discrete when feeding and don't kill, he allows it. Billy isn't very talkative unless for business. Although he is the owner of The Sports Bar, he does not work as a bar tender. He will arrange for entertainment groups to perform in his bar and he will sort out stock and fake IDs, but he does not work on the bar as a tender.
:: HISTORY :: Billy and his family moved to Mactire Falls when he was only 12 years old. HIs father, an aspiring business man, bought an old, closed down bar and turned it into a bar and karaoke. To begin with, business was slow and the place took a lot of time to restore, but by the time Billy (or as he was known then, William) was 16, the place began to take off. William began working for his father and learnt what it meant to run the place. He enjoyed working at the bar, even though he was technically too young to be working with alcohol. He enjoyed seeing how much enjoyment people got from coming to the karaoke bar and wanted nothing more than to take over once his father thought he was ready.
As the years rolled by, the karaoke bar turned into a night club competitor. Where the stage had been used for karaoke singers, musicians came to perform. More people flocked to the Bar 13. William worked as a bar tender and helped his father with general business obligations. He was steadily learning how to run a business well and even started taking hiring staff, ordering stock and making rosters. As another year passed, William took nearly complete control of the bar. His father rarely had anything to do with the business any more, yet seemed to always be in his office, busy working or on the phone to 'important clients.' At first William thought nothing of it, but his mother seemed to grow quiet and sad. She told William that she was alight, just worried about how hard her husband was working. William found that odd, as he had taken over running the Hyde Bar, but spoke nothing of it, but the thoughts soon began seeping into his mind. He had seen a very attractive young blonde woman visit his father a few times. If not the blonde, then another equally beautiful blonde or a feisty brunette. Anger began to grow in William as he began piecing everything together. His father was having an affair.
Or so he thought. Just as he'd plucked up the courage to call his father out on his indiscretions, William halted outside the office door. Another woman was visiting this time.
"You're taking this too far. People will catch on and you know it. Cut your losses, before we're all caught and killed. Go back to dealing drugs, there's less danger in that than what you're dealing with now,"
William stood, confused. Drugs? When did his father ever deal drugs? And what could be more dangerous than that, weapons?
"I can't stop now. My family is happy. I'm sorry if you're getting cold feet Miss Blake-"
"Call me Ruth,"
"Ruth. but this will continue, with or without your help. You are not the only vampire in this town."
"No I'm not, but my family and I are the only ones who are going to care if something happens to you and your family. I urge you to stop and leave here. It's not safe any more."
"I won't hear any more of this! I think it is time for you to leave,"
"Please, I-"
"Goodnight Miss. Blake!"
William heard the woman give an exasperated sigh, before the door was flung open. A woman he hadn't seen before burst through the door, a sad look on her face. She gave William a not, not at all surprised to see him at the door, then moved past him. His father on the other hand was shocked to see his son there.
With that, his father ushered him in and explained everything. At first, William wasn't sure why, but his father soon revealed that sooner or later he was going to need his son's help to continue. As it turned out, a few years back, when the karaoke bar became Bar 13, William father began running a little side business of trafficking drugs. At first, it was only marijuana, but then he started dealing in all sorts of illegal substances. He then began dealing with fake IDs, which he sold for a high price. That was when -unknowingly to William- he found out that his father was suffering with cancer. He had found someone who sold him a 'miracle' cure, but at a high price, which was why he kept on selling drugs. When people heard he'd found a cure for all injuries, William's father needed more supply, but did not have the money to pay for it. Then the woman who left just before, Ruth; found out about the deal the man had with the dealer and offered to give him the same 'miracle cure' free of charge, if he let her 'feed' in his bar and supply her with fake IDs when needed.
What his father told William then chilled him to the bones. Vampires were real. Ruth Blake had revealed to William's father what she was and that his 'miracle cure' was actually vampire blood. She told him that the dealer who was charging such a high price was in fact also a vampire, Malik; who had cause much pain and suffering within her clan. She and her family provided him with small amounts of blood in exchange for feeding on humans in his bar. Ruth promised her family would not kill when feeding and would be discrete.
The plan went along well, until a rogue werewolf rolled into town and began stirring trouble. He was targeting anyone that had anything to do with her clan so that he could get to her family. William's father insisted that he was in no danger and whatever problems the young woman had gotten into was not his own.
At first, it was hard for William to take in, but he soon became familiar with Ruth's daughters Alex and Lexy. Lexy was in the bar most often and William, although by now he was at least 10 years older than her, began to fancy her. He had seen her come and go with different men and always left William jealous. Finally, he plucked up enough courage to offer himself for her to feed on personally. At first she declined, saying that she was not supposed to feed off the employees, but William insisted, assuring her that he ran the place, only his father dealt with the blood deals.
A few feeds went by harmlessly, where Lexy would feed before giving him a sip of her blood to heal the bite wounds. Soon enough however, one thing lead to another and William wound up with Lexy in his bed. What hurt him most was that Lexy was indifferent about their encounter. He was just like any other man she'd taken home with her. Fun but nothing more. He then began to wonder if their encounters would see him spending time behind bars, but she assured him: 'My entire existence is illegal. I think you're fine.'
2 years before the war that killed most of the supernatural population of mactire Falls, William's father and mother were killed by werewolves. William had only escaped with his life as he was spending some time with Lexy away from home. When he returned, his family was dead and the bar trashed. Not knowing what else to do, William begged Lexy to turn him, saying that he could not continue what his father started in a fragile human body. He felt like his life would never account to anything more than the bar and wanted to be able to do what his father could not. Protect it and his family. It took some time, but eventually he convinced her to turn him.
As a new born vampire, he realised what he had agreed to. He could not venture out at night. He would thirst for blood so often, for the better part of 3 months, he couldn't face the customers. Lexy taught him how to live peacefully as a vampire but her visits slowed. She had children and a boyfriend now. Their arrangement ceased to exist once her beau walked into her life. Although William played it smooth, he never lost his feelings for her. Not completely. He always had a soft spot for the little vampire that made him who he was.
Just before the war broke out, William discovered he was very similar to his father, as he was fantastic at dealing illegal goods. He cared little for petty drugs, but the money he made for making people fake IDs spiked his interest. When the war did break out, William was forced to leave. He'd never heard what happened to his friends and assumed them dead. Deciding he needed a new start, William reinvented himself as Billy. As soon as he could, he returned to Mactire Falls and revamped Bar 13 into The Sports Bar.
------------------------------------------------------
:: REASON :: Billy is the best source of untraceable fake IDs Mactire Falls has to offer. He also runs The Sports Bar. Being a vampire, he allows vampires to feed in his bar as long as they are discrete and don't kill. He owned The Sports Bar back before the war (see History for details), but back then, it was known as Bar 13. He has history with the town.:: ADOPTABLE :: Probably going to have to say no, unless someone comes up with a thrilling way to make him part of the family.
